Using real actors...

What do my fellow MK brethren think about using real actors like in MK1-3 and using their likeness for the characters in future MK games? The graphics for MKX look spectacular so far, but I'm thinking ahead as to what could be done in the future to take the visuals to the next level. With EA using real UFC fighters and implementing their likeness, I'd like to think maybe NRS could go that route in a future title. I'd love to see Carlos Pesina as Raiden again visually. I know he does a lot of the mokap (no pun intended), but to actually see HIS face again as the God of Thunder would surely be a treat for me and many of the older fans who grew up on MK1 & 2. Of course different approaches would need to be taken for big monster type characters such as Shokans.

Just something I've been thinking about for a while. Thoughts?

The way technology has advanced, Bluescreen-captured sprites probably look lower quality than CG models do once you get up into the higher resolutions.

Plus when you have a 3D model of something, you can animate it doing any pose you want in realtime, which means you can change things on the fly when designing moves or animating cutscenes, whereas with humans on film, you're stuck with whatever you've already filmed unless you burn through time and money on more days shooting reels of footage.

The only thing I can think of would be doing the kind of stuff that Quantic Dream has been doing with their games. For example, I would much prefer to see someone like Sonya be modeled after Kerri Hoskins as opposed to how Sonya looks in some of the games. That could be done with the type of technology used in the Quantic Dream games.
