I'm really surprised at how low the view count is.. last episode was closer to 500k or 800k by now.. I'm hoping that's because everyone has been busy playing Mortal Kombat 2011

I was thinking the same but this video has actually been flagged by the YouTube community as innappropiate and now has an age restirction. Which means, in order to view this video you need to have a username. I'm not sure but this may be a factor.

The episode itself was great. At first, I wanted to see more action from Sonya but then I remembered that none of the actors received formal martial arts training. So I'm glad Jeri Ryan's fighting was kept to a minimum (Jeez, I could just imagine the uproar that would happen in these forums if Jeri attempted to fight).

Jax popping Kano's eye out = EPIC!!!!

The actor who plays Stryker is impressive. I think Jeri and him are the best actors in these two episodes, even if they didn't fight as much as Jax and Kano.

Looking forward to the next episode!!!!!! grin

I enjoyed the episode, however, I felt it was too short. We could've done w/o the into. Nice to see Sonya kickin' some ass, and always glad to see Jax in action. Super excited to see how KT will handle the Sub-Z and Scorp story, but I'm assuming he'll save that story for later in the series, since he knows that is one of the ones people are most eager for...

According to Kevin... people are lobbying to flag the video and get it taken down

KTANCH Kevin Tancharoen
I hear that some people are trying to flag Episode 2. Staying true to old school MK controversy. #mortalkombatlegacy

I'm amazed by just how convincing and simple they managed to make getting a cybernetic eye installed seem.

Everything's looking roses. More please!

This episode should've just been part of the first. It was extremely short. The first episode just should've been longer, incorporating this.

I still have all the same complaints I had about the first episode. I still hate Jax being a detective instead of being in the Special Forces.

And there's still too much slow-motion.

Are we really complaining about the length of a FREE internet web series? They could make them 1 minute for all I care. They did this for the fans and we are getting to see it for free. They could have easily released it through I Tunes charging like $3 an episode

I agree with TheManWithTheGoldenGun, remember these are free webisodes, they could easily charge for them, and instead they made em' free for all of us fans. We should stop complaining too much and begin being grateful instead.

The video's been edited. No more Kano's eye popping out, no more eye surgery. Lame.

FUCK PROTOCOL!!!!

Where can I find the original uncensored version?

Worse thing is, i reckon its fan boys who did the campaign to try and get it removed.. Machinima would have edited it to help with the view count.. coz more views is better for them, but better for Kevin too

It doesn't make sense to me that they can show MK fatalities from the games on YouTube, most of which are much more violent than this series, but can't show Jax hitting a home run with Kano's eye?

THIS

Is there some way to make them allow it the same way other people flagged it for showing that?

Yes!

More please.

I think we'll be starting some other characters next ep though. Even though this was short, I feel that most of what was missing is just filler stuff. I also would have liked to see Stryker get a fight scene with someone but, I'm okay without it because they already made him cool enough in this thing by giving him a viable role and personality.

I think we're gonna get the Kitana/Mileena thing next. 2 or 3 ep's later, I expect to see the Scorpion/Sub-Zero thing for about 3 ep's.

Raiden is in this thing and so, I'm thinking the Edenian plotline is the only real way to get him in. I guess he could pop up in the sub-zero thing story line but, I think Raiden vs Shao Khan thing.... wait, MKM has Raiden show up a few times during....nah

Yea, I'm excited t see more. Great Job KT & team. I hope they able to give us the non-censored version first for all of them before the "omg bl00dz n g0r3z!!" people flag every damn thing.

So dumb...

I guess haetrz gonna haet, hu?

It's pathetic that it was censored. Absolutely pathetic. I'm sick of this bullshit PC-Care Bear society that some of these people are trying to lobby for.

For me, I just don't think MK has any business being this boring.
Sound and fury connecting one or two cool moments is not a creative vision. I think it's a shame there has been quite a substantial swell of support for these two episodes. I think it says a lot about how low the industry has gone in the last ten years and how low audience expectation is.

I'm holding on to the thought that the later episodes might retain more of what makes MK interesting. As an adaptation, or a stand-alone project, the first two episodes were just big ol' styleless clunkers.

What the hell is this, man?! This whole censorship issue this early in the series really makes me worry about future episodes! I don't know about you guys, but I've waited years to see live-action Mortal Kombat done right. To the PG-13 society out there, please don't ruin this for those of us who want this done right!

YouTube don't have any kind of age gate enforcement, so this is likely a temporary measure. If it reaches broadcast, digital distribution, or DVD, you'll likely get to see each episode in uncut detail.

Oh no, Mick, I didn't mean any literal kind of age enforcement. Rather, it was for those poor select few fools that would actually watch Legacy without understanding the history of Mortal Kombat and what it's about. However few they are, all it takes is a few flags and the next thing you know we get seven weeks of censorship ruining a series which has so much promise in it's infancy.

If this is how they are doing things with just the second episode, what then could be said for the future? I know of several other people besides myself who aren't major MK fans that say they might not bother with the rest of the series if this keeps up. We have to keep in mind that a vast majority of the potential viewers aren't even hardcore MK fans like us, but rather casual viewers who only watch it for the gory content in the first place. Gore isn't the whole of MK, that's true, but it's the quintessential pitch that's drawn people who are fans and casual observers alike over the years.

I just wish Sonya B got more action instead of being a damsel in distress. What I saw of her fighting I liked, but it left me wanting more.

Again, YouTube has little in the way age gate enforcement.
It's pretty reasonable for people to flag the material. That is the responsible thing to do. It isn't an issue of understanding the level of violence in the source material, it's about a general responsibility of broadcasting.

The makers of the film will almost certainly provide fans with an easily accessed uncut version at some point, but the hosts need to adhere to the basic code of conduct of broadcasting.

Personally, I think people who are only interested in ten seconds of blood spatter have been the bane of the series for a long time, and are better off shed at this early stage. If not for these people, MK Legacy might be a tad more interesting than it is, delivering more on the story and characters that make MK an attractive IP to adapt in the first place. Fans of cheap violence and bloody gimmicks have fatality demonstrations to keep them amused.

RE: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode #2

You're taking too many liberties with the assumption that this is solely about blood and gore. While there are many such individuals out there, we're talking about VERY specific implications here. In Episode 2's case, it's an essential plot element to establish one of the defining attributes of a key character. How many other such cases can there be if this is the case where violence is an essential plot element? Whether you like it or not, violence IS the defining attribute that makes Mortal Kombat what it is today. This doesn't mean we've got to get into some kind of argument about the broad assumption some people have made about the sadomasochistic gore fest they THINK we want.

The way you're making it sound, it would be best if we just revisit 1995's MK all over again, and that's fine, if that's what they were marketing with Legacy's premise. Obviously, this isn't the case here. If, in the beginning, they had mentioned offering two versions of censored and uncensored, I would've been fine. Having already seen Episode 3, my previous prediction came to pass, but the redeeming quality comes in the form of Friday's uncensored version. It isn't about the swearing, it's about the premise of offering one thing and getting another.

Bottom line, if you want to market something to a mass audience that may not be able to be shown as you originally intended for it to be, then it's best you pick another media outlet altogether or let the people know what they could potentially be in for. Legacy could just as easily survive on another site whether they're as big as Youtube or not. MK as a brand is big enough to gain attention virtually anywhere you put it, especially on the internet.
