RIP Liu

Artist's Remarks:
This is a pic I did to depict the mourning of Liu Kang. I was reading Wizard magazine and I came across this pic that Michael Turner did of some DC characters and it inspired me to draw this for Lui. So credit for the basic "Set up" of this (ie..placement of people and coffin) pic goes to Mike Turner but you can clearly see it is in my style of drawing.

I love this piece. Its really good. I love the look on the characters faces. I love all the detail used on their clothing and bodies. I like the atmosphere your trying to show. Also the phrase used was good too. I dont really like the hands on the sides, they were drawn good but im just not liking them. At first i couldnt tell where the coffin was at, couldnt tell if it was a coffin or not. 5/5

I really like this drawing of yours TomTaz. The way you have all the fighters lined up around the coffin and Raiden in the middle with his hands out looks good even if you did get the idea from somewhere else. You still made your own take on it. I really think Sonya Kitana and Cage look great. The looks on their faces says it all. Great job man 4/5.

Yeah I just figured there wasn't much shown or heard of as far as the Earth warriors and Raiden Reflecting and mourning the Lose of Lui. Even in the game in Kitana's ending (keeping in mind she was like the closest to him) The kinda made it an after thought ya know? "Oh poor Goro he's dead I will miss him so much.,,,Oh yeah Liu is Dead too." That's just the impression I got. Yes I'll miss Goro too, but she should have shown more emotion as far as Liu was concerned IMO. The only one in the game that seemed to make an effort was Kung Lao.<br>

Thanks I'm glad you think it's cool. I just though Liu was cheated as stated above so I made a little something.

Awesome, this looks so...offical (that's a good thing--I swear!) This belonged in MKDA. I love Jax and Johhny wearing their glasses! The detail on Kung Lao is excellent. The only one who looks off is Kitana, she looks a little cartoonish.
This is my favorite group picture for MK...period. 5/5

Wow. Thanks I really appreciate that. Ya know I was thinking myself when I saw this posted that Kitana kinda looked out of place with the rest. YES Kung's costume was difficult I can't tell you how many times I erased.. I dont think I'll be drawing him much. LOL

I like your drawing, the emotions are great.

The characters could be drawn a little better IMO

Some of the proportions seem a bit off.

The main problem I see is if they are supposed to be standing next to the coffin, then the coffin looks too small for an adult.

If they aren't supposed to actually be next to it, then it's ok.

Overall, it's a good job though Taz.

omg, the emotion in this pic is very stong Taz, I love the detail in the outfits, and Raiden, a god, actually shedding a tear for a mortal It's very moving. And Jax trying to maintain the tough guy persona. Lol Who the hell is he fooling? One thing though, I really don't think Sonya would be showing her emotions that openly in front of them like that. Infact...I would have depicted her the way you depicted Jax, because she would definitely wait til she was alone. Still over all a fantastic peice. 5/5

I also agree on what you said about Mourning for Kang in DA not really being shown much. This is very nic.

lol @ Jax. Yeah I considered that about Sonya myself after posting, Oh well...maybe with everything else going on too she just didn't have the mental strength to keep up a front? what do you think?

I think this is a great piece of work Tom. I think you have done a great job.

Now a general comment directed at all of your pictures. I notice on every pic you've made, there is a usually small touch up where it is a jagged clearly digital line. On this pic it is around Sonya's crotch. Usually I see that around the eyes of your characters. I don't know what you are using to digitally edit these but the output is very aliased. Might what to consider some new software for the next one.

First Thanks for the Compliment on the Pic.

And yes your right. I scan the pic an then I finds stuff that I'm not happy with and attempt to fix the pic with the drawing tool, And in most of my pics it does have to do with the eys. In this pic, I looked at the picture and decided I wasn't really happy with how her crotch line turned out and truth be told I am still not.... as far as programs go any suggestions?

Well, the GIMP is free, PSP is fairly cheap (compared to PS). What are you using, paint?

If you can get them PS or Painter are the best. They approach coloring from different directions.
