awesome like usual except this one is more special coz in colors... i like it

my only complain is in his bio... correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i know unlike westerner the family name of chinese people are put in the first of the name, so in this case the family name supposed to be Liu not Kang.

Well, if someone who is from China comes to the states, they have to reverse their name, so his real name is Kang Liu.... so Kang is the family name

I always thought he'd kept it in the original way, since Liu is a common chinese surname, and one associated with heroes (such as Liu Bei/Pei, for anyone familiar with the Three Kingdoms period), as Laoho (Lao) is a heroic first name.

reversing the name is not that simple especially if it has meaning.

well... it's true chinese people usually change their original name when they go to the western countries but only if they using a western name, famous people for example :

- Jet Lee, original name : Lee Lianji, and Bruce Lee, original name Lee Xiao Long... as you notice the surname is behind the western name.

- Chow Yun Fat (Bulletproof Monk) who doesn't have a western/english name didn't change/reverse his name to Yun Fat Chow when he moved to Hollywood... it would be awkward if he did.

i just never heard nor see anything in official MK story that said Liu Kang go to the states (except in the movie), or anything refered him as Kang Liu ... He lives in Shaolin temple which is in China.

so my conclusion is that Liu is his family name, unless the MK Team sez otherwise. cheers

I'm inclined to agree with Gorango, especially because Bruce Lee wasn't often referred to as 'Bruce Lee,' in his Hong Kong home. If his name was Kang Liu, he would only be called Liu Kang in America, not by Kung Lao and those who shared the Shaolin temple with him.
