Ooookay, it appears my fanart was submitted anyways. Not that I'm complaining, but...

Fan Sub FAQ Rules:

"File size limit: 250kB limit. The image/document must be smaller than this total or it will be denied entry into the system."

The submitted art is 356kB. Perhaps the rules need to be re-evaluated?

In any case, cool, my art was submitted. Ignore my other thread then. ^^

Okay. Actually, this is something that needs a bit of clarification (and possibly a future revision), since this requirement was relaxed quite some time ago. At present, the image file size limit must be less than 1mb.

The purpose was to offer flexibility beyond the 250kb limit. This way, the size and quality of people's artwork doesn't have to be reduced as much when approved. Also, not everyone is a graphic designer/artist or is knowledgeable about reducing file sizes and DPI/PPI. So, I feel raising the kb ceiling was a good idea. Though, what actually might be re-evaluated is the 'height of the ceiling' based on our current storage needs. I'll need to look into that and make a determination on where the new size limit may ultimately be. Ideally, it'd still be helpful if people were able to try to have their submissions well south 1mb.

In any case, you shouldn't worry about your submissions as long as you're able to keep them in the rage of this Jade artwork, Jaded-Raven. If you or anyone have any questions, comments, Asian soup recipes , feel free to PM me. Though note that my computer is out for repair, so a reply will likely take me a few days.

As for the artwork, it's a good first start using your new tool. I think working on your lines as you get more accustomed to the wacom will help a lot. Hope to see your next one.

It's certainly not bad, but she's too stretched out. For example, look at how long the line is that connects her arm pit with her breast, or the space between her clavicle and her cleavage. Her whole body (especially her torso) just has that unintentionally elongated look.

Still alright though. You did well with choosing a dynamic and non-generic pose.

Funny you say unintentional, because that has kinda been my style since... well, always. XD
Some like it, some don't. But thanks for your comment. ^^

I like it.It kinda looks like a manga or comic type of art.The the only thing that bugs me out is the blurry desert background. 3/5

I suck at making environments and I wanted Jade to be in focus, hence why the background is blurry. ^^

I like this a lot. Especially since it's your first on the tablet. Which is not easy. I am still trying to get the hang of mine and it's taking quite some time, haha. Great job! I cannot wait to see what you do next!

I don't see any unnatural stretching. She appears in motion, about to kick forward or backflip kick. A dynamic pose, as the title suggests. Fluid.

Haha, it took some time for me to get used to it as well, especially that the lines appeared on the screen and not on where the pen was. :P
Thanks for your comment. ^^

I do have a tendency to make my characters too skinny and long-limbed, so I get what he means by "stretched out". There are a few more flaws, like her boobs aren't big enough and maybe look too flattened, but at the same time as an artist I would like to take some liberties to put my own style into the characters I draw and make the changes I see fit.

Anyways, thanks for your positive comment. ^^

Great job Raven! I like the highlights on the metallic pieces and really nice shadowing. Her fore arms seem a tiny little bit longer than usual, but she is proportionate everywhere else. Nice work!! .

Very good for a first attempt. Except for the fact that her body looks a bit elongated and the ear (kinda looks like the bottom part of a shoe lol) I like it a lot.

You're right about the ear, gonna fix that. :P
As for the elongated body, already been through that above.
Edit:
Fixed the ear which can be seen here:

I'm sure the concept artists at NRS would feel sad to hear that.

Ah, I just noticed her original ear looks like Super Mario's boot from the old instruction booklet cartoons. :P
