Artist's Remarks:

This started off as just an exercise for myself, practicing with different brushes for an entirely different painting, but before long this was turning into something more familiar. I always loved the image of Kahn's fortress bursting up through the streets in MK3 and was a bit disappointed it didn't happen in MK9 but I guess that would've went against their retconned loophole about merging the realms.

This is just simply beautiful! That's how I envisioned MK3 part since my childhood,not the abomination portal on the Rooftop like in MK9 Story Mode. THIS is how it should have been done in MK9. You,sir,deserve all the credit in the world!

Looks spectacular.

I too have always loved the image of that castle with the giant Kahn helmet, sitting amidst the ruined, tipping over skyscrapers, giant portal overhead and wish they'd done it properly in MK9.

This is scary good. I always loved that stage, really wish they would have done the rooftop better justice in MK9.

Yeah, the Rooftop stage and the story images from MK3 always stuck with me. Earthrealm in the middle of merging with Outworld was an awesome concept and I was disappointed that it didn't really happen in MK9. Well it did I suppose in a way, but some Outworld architecture bleeding into Earthrealm would've been fantastic.

Thank you all very much! Yeah, the Rooftop stage and the story images from MK3 always stuck with me.
