So why do ya'll think this site kinda died? Was it the rise of social media?

Once the old regulars were gone there was little point being around. I was an admin too.

I didn't find the forum was able to adapt to smart phone users either. I went from being pc/laptop all day long to being a grown up doing 40+ hours a week and having no interest being Infront of my computer screen all day.

I spend it glued to my phone screen instead.

I had a feeling that I'd see some old faces in here :)

With all the unrest in the world right now, it's great to see that we can still come together and hang out.

I say this with no intention of throwing shade, but I know several users (including myself) jumped ship after a series of site-wide decisions seemed to force new approaches that we disagreed with, as they seemed restrictive and redundant. That said, when I heard this thread was being opened again, it was a decision I agreed with whole heartedly. The drive by was a wonderful part of our community, and I look forward to getting back in the Frey with some old friends.

Any suggestions you'd like to see on improvements in this area? V8 (the current version) of the site was designed with mobile in mind, so it should be reasonably easy to use on mobile, but we're always accepting suggestions on how to improve!

I think the rise of places like Reddit certainly hasn't helped (that said, we're partnering with r/MortalKombat for Fight Klub), but I wouldn't fully attribute the decline in traffic to that. I think there's been an honest assessment from within that we need to do more, before it's too late. I can't reveal much, but there is some really cool stuff in the pipeline.

I encourage you returning folks to check out the new stickied Feedback and Suggestions thread and drop some ideas. I have a direct line of communication with CCShadow and I'll pass anything along to him.

As a pro web developer, I’d say you guys have made huge, well done strides for mobile UI/UX. Hell, I’m typing out this reply on a phone. I’m still relearning the site, but if I catch anything I’ll be sure to post it in the feedback thread.
