I have to say, without a doubt, the PSX version. The gameplay is pretty much dead on to the arcade. Personally, I preferred the more balanced combos that are in the arcade and PSX version versus the countless, broken, infinite or infinite-like combos in the N64 version. Also, I did not think the graphics in the N64 version were anywhere near as good as the PSX version. Too many frames were cut out. Also, I believe unmasked Sub Zero was taken out of the N64 version.

The other thing I remember is the crappy music. PSX has the music stored as CD tracks and, while their lengths have been altered for some reason, they are still better then what N64 had.

There's my opinion. Hope it helped out

Well, if you want more characters, playable bosses, and an easy control pad, go with the PlayStation version. However, if you want better graphics and Masked Sub-Zero to have as much ice power as his younger sibling, get the N64 version. Oh yeah, one more thing, PSX version has the ability to present playable MK1 Rayden, MK1 Kano, MK2 Kung Lao, and MK2 Jax, reason for being on a CD-ROM.

I would say the Saturn version over all of them, but Saturn stuff is so rare now that PSX is the next viable choice. This is all my opinion of course.

I will live by the Bushido always

i have all three. and you can play as the bosses on all 3 versions btw (shao kahn and motaro only on n64 no goro or kintaro sad)..but, the n64 version gave the bosses fatalities. and you dont have to wait on loading times when morphing into other characters. it had different stages than the ps and ss. and some characters had fatalities and other finishers that didnt appear in the ps or ss version. and the n64 wasnt "missing" the unmasked sub, they just combined the two..wich was cool imo.

the ps version has the graphics and great sound. loading times can be frustraiting at times, but its not that bad. and the psx version allows you to play as goro, kintaro, and classic versions of jax, kung lao, kano, and raiden. and a male ninja, chamealon (the n64 has a female version)

the ss version is almost exact to the ps version, but has better graphics and slightly faster loading times. everything the ps version has, the ss version has in a better quality.

all three are good in their own ways. if youre looking for different stages, boss fatalities, and a few bonus games, get the n64 version.
if youre looking for great sound, graphics, and bonus characters get the ps version. if you want what the ps has to offer, but want a better quality, get the ss version.
